STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT, BOARD APPOINTMENTS AND PROPOSED SHARE PLACING
St Helen's Capital Plc ("St Helen's" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of a number of key individuals as part of the Company's strategy to develop as a leading adviser and broker to small-cap companies across AIM and PLUS.
Ruari McGirr, Sebastian Wykeham and David Johnson have joined the Company from Daniel Stewart & Co where they helped it develop from an OFEX (now PLUS) focused business to an AIM small cap broker. Ruari McGirr and Sebastian Wykeham have both been appointed to the Board of the Company.
Ruari McGirr, who has worked in corporate finance advising small-cap companies for 11 years, joins St Helen's as Chief Executive. Barry Hocken, acting Chief Executive, will remain on the St Helen's Board with specific responsibility for St Helen's PLUS activity.
Sebastian Wykeham joins the Board of St Helen's and takes responsibility for the Company's Sales and Broking activities. He has 11 years' experience in both Sales and Fund Management in the small-cap market.
David Johnson joins the Company to lead a new St Helen's Research function and is a specialist small-cap analyst with particular experience of the information technology and engineering sectors.
The appointments of Ruari McGirr and Sebastian Wykeham take effect from 5 February 2007, and David Johnson's from 6 February 2007.
St Helen's also announces that it is proposing to raise additional working and investment capital of around GBP2 million, which includes investment by the three new members of the team, through a private placing to strengthen the balance sheet and finance the Company's expansion.

Ruari McGirr and Sebastian Wykeham have not been directors or partners in any companies or partnerships during the previous five years.
