The  Board of St Helen's, the leading PLUS-quoted (Ofex) adviser, is pleased to announce  it  has appointed Howard Flight as Non-Executive Director with effect from 12 September 2006. 

Howard has extensive  knowledge  of  financial markets and is well known in the City. He started his City career in 1970  with N.M. Rothschild & Sons and after three years with Cayzer Limited, he worked  at  HSBC Merchant Bank (Wardley) in Hong Kong and India.

In recent years he has held positions at Guinness Mahon & Co. Limited, Investec Asset Management Limited and Guinness Flight Global Asset Management Limited as Investment Director, Joint Chairman and Joint Managing Director respectively.

Howard's current directorships include Investec Asset  Management  Limited  and Panmure Gordon & Co. plc.

Amongst  other  things  he  is  also  a  Commissioner of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, a Consultant of Kinetic  Partners  and  a  Member  of  the Advisory Council to the Financial Services Forum.

Howard  also has an extensive background in politics and is currently President of the Conservative  City  Circle,  Chairman  of The Globalisation Institute, a Member of The Competition Policy Review (covering pensions) and a Member of the Council of Economic Advisors to the Shadow Chancellor.

He holds a 1.1% interest in the shares of St Helen's,  and  as  a result of his appointment, the total directors' holdings is 33.4% of the current issued share capital.
